Medication Management

Integrative psychiatry does not mean anti-medication. It means using medication carefully, selectively, and with clear clinical reasoning.

I provide psychiatric medication management for adults, with a primary focus on women’s mental health and life transitions. Together, we assess whether medication is likely to be helpful, which options make sense to consider, and how to use them in a way that balances benefit with potential side effects.

When appropriate and safe, care may also include thoughtful deprescribing. Medication decisions are collaborative and revisited over time as symptoms, health, and circumstances change.

Mindfulness, Meaning & Regulation

Medication alone rarely addresses the full picture.

Mental health is shaped by stress, habits, relationships, identity, and how people make sense of what they are experiencing. When helpful, I incorporate simple, practical mindfulness-based strategies to support emotional regulation, attention, and steadiness.

For patients who draw meaning from spiritual or religious frameworks, those perspectives can be included in care when relevant. This is optional and always guided by the patient’s values and preferences.

Brief, Targeted Therapeutic Support

While OptiMind is not a therapy-only practice, I offer brief, focused therapeutic support for specific stressors that often intersect with psychiatric symptoms, including:

  • ADHD-related challenges

  • Career or role transitions

  • Parenthood and caregiving stress

  • Relationship concerns

This work is structured, time-limited, and integrated with psychiatric care. When longer-term therapy is indicated, appropriate referrals are discussed.

Integrative Nutrition Support

Nutrition can influence mood, energy, and hormonal stability for some individuals.

As a certified holistic nutrition coach, I may incorporate nutrition-related guidance when clinically relevant. This may include discussion of whole-food approaches, meal structure, or targeted dietary considerations.

When appropriate and requested, I can also help patients evaluate supplement options, prioritizing evidence, safety, and affordability. Supplements are used selectively and are never required.

Integrative Lab Testing

Standard lab results may fall within a “normal” range and still fail to explain symptoms.

When clinically appropriate, integrative lab testing can provide additional information to support decision-making—particularly related to nutrients or hormonal patterns. Lab data is always interpreted alongside symptoms, history, and clinical judgment.

For patients affected by hormonal cycling, patterns may be tracked over time, with testing considered when it is likely to be useful.

Biofeedback & Wearable Supports

Some patients benefit from non-medication tools that support nervous system regulation.

Biofeedback and selected wearable devices may be discussed when appropriate, particularly for individuals who are sensitive to medication or seeking additional non-pharmacologic support. These tools are adjunctive and considered on a case-by-case basis.

Availability and insurance coverage vary.

Insurance & Coverage

Some integrative services—including specialized lab testing, genetic testing, medical devices, or referrals—may not be covered by insurance.

These services are optional. When relevant, costs and coverage are discussed in advance so patients can make informed decisions. Patients are encouraged to confirm coverage details with their insurance carrier.

Clinical Approach

Not every tool is appropriate for every person. Care at OptiMind is guided by clinical judgment, experience, and context, rather than maximal intervention. The goal is to use what helps—no more, no less.
